Four Tips for Success with EMC's New RFQ Process
October 6, 2021
With EMC's new Request for Quote (RFQ) Process in place since July 6, we've gained some insights as to how you can make your Labor Partner bid stand out.
- Make sure you read the Project Details. In this section of the RFQ, we include important information you'll want to consider including:
- Shift and hours
- Material / logistics plan
- Equipment needed
- Disposal requirements
- Look for specific information from EMC buyers. Buyers will add details about speicific requirements to the lines of the RFQ to answer any questions you have about a particular labor action. This often includes information regarding specific applications, access difficulties, scaffolding requirements, etc.
- There is no longer a "Details Tab." If you would prefer a copy of the workplan of a site, please let your buyer know and we can send that with the RFQ. Be sure to look for attachments. Our new RFQs do not include as much as detail as the old ones, so it is important to reference the workplan that should be sent with the RFQ. Again, your buyer can help if you do not see a workplan included.
- All RFQs now have open and close dates. If you attempt to submit a bid after the close date, the buyer will not receive it or be able to evaluate your quote for that site. If you need more time, please make sure you communicate that to your buyer prior to the scheduled close date. This will be listed on the header tab of the RFQ as well as in the email notification.
