NALMCO Spring Seminar Update

The interNational Association of Lighting Management Companies (NALMCO) met March 7-9 in Indianapolis for its annual Spring Seminar. It was another well-attended gathering with great information and these upcoming educational opportunities:
New GUV Lighting Certifications
Increasing customer demand for adding germicidal ultraviolet (GUV) fixtures to buildings was a key topic at the Seminar. In response NALMCO announced the summer rollout of three new nationally recognized UV lighting-focused certifications: Certified Apprentice UV Technician (CAUVT), Certified Senior UV Technician (CSUVT) and Certified UV Management Consultant (CUVMC).
As a wide variety of shared customers set their sights on GUV, these certifications are excellent ways to meet increased demand. They will be offered online as well as in person at the 70th NALMCO Annual Convention and Trade Show.
New Certified Lighting Auditor Certification
In beta testing now, a Certified Lighting Auditor (CLA) certification was announced at the Spring Seminar and should be available by the end of this summer. With a 75-question online test format, it will be similar to the CALT and CSLT exams.
Watch for Free Continuing Ed Info
Starting May 2023, NALMCO members will begin receiving monthly emails with details about upcoming free continuing education by Acuity Academy. If you are a NALMCO member, watch your inbox. If you are considering NALMCO membership, this is a great reason to join!
70th NALMCO Annual Convention and Trade Show
Held October 8-11 in Indian Wells, CA, this fall’s Convention and Trade Show marks 70 years of NALMCO. A great way to get the current pulse of our industry, there will be a number of in-person training and exam opportunities, including the new GUV and the always-popular CLMC, make it an excellent reason to attend!
