EMC Supports “Gary’s House” at the George H.W. Bush Cape Arundel Celebrity Golf Classic

EMC is proud to announce that we will be sponsoring and participating in the 2016 George H.W. Bush Cape Arundel Celebrity Golf Classic on June 20-21 in Kennebunkport, Maine at the historic Cape Arundel Golf Club.

EMC CEO and President Jerry Johnson will lead an EMC team playing in the four-man scramble golf tournament, and EMC is sponsoring the lunch provided, along with The Maine Diner, Shipyard and Coca Cola.

The tournament is named after the 41st President, who has been in attendance nearly every year since its inception in 2002, the tournament benefits Gary’s House. This hospitality home, operated by Mercy Hospital, located in Portland, Maine, is a tribute to Gary Pike, a life-long Kennebunk resident who died at a young age from a rare cancer. The funds raised from the tournament help ensure that Gary’s House will continue to serve more than 400 families per year.

The tournament is a two-day event, beginning on Monday evening, June 20, with the Point of Light Gala. The evening begins with an ocean view silent auction, followed by dinner and a live auction on items including sports tickets, incredible original artwork, exciting travel experiences, authentic historical items and much more. The auction has often included personal items from the Bush Family, including the 41st President's briefcase!

One of the top auction items at this year’s tournament will be tickets to the final round of the 2016 Ryder Cup, which is being held right here in Minnesota at Hazeltine National Golf Club from September 27-October 2.
