Utilities recognized include ComEd, Eversource, National Grid, PSEG Long Island and Xcel Energy

Energy Management Collaborative (EMC) announced today its top six utility performers of 2018. The lighting + controls + IoT company, which works with hundreds of utilities, based its criteria on important factors that impact program success for its customers including preapproval timelines, rebate values, payment timelines, trade ally bonuses and overall savings.

“The availability of utility rebate and incentive offerings are critical considerations for EMC customers when determining the scope and prioritization of their LED lighting and controls projects,” said EMC CEO Howard Heckes. “And we appreciate how the strong relationships we’ve built with these utilities over the years have improved the returns for our customers.”

2018 Top Utility Performers

ComEd

For a second consecutive year ComEd makes the list with almost half a million dollars of incentives paid to EMC customers.

The utility, which provides power across northern Illinois, continued to be an excellent collaborator. Superior communication and a streamlined application process significantly contributed to EMC customer success in ComEd territory.

Eversource

Also returning for a second consecutive year is Eversource. With just over a million dollars in incentives delivered to retail and industrial customers in Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Hampshire in 2018, strong collaboration and lucrative incentives continues to make Eversource territory attractive to EMC customers.

Eversource is also leading the charge with controls incentives. One EMC industrial customer saved 25 percent of its project costs as a result of a lighting and controls incentive for their 1,000,000+ square foot facility.

National Grid

New to the list in 2018 is National Grid, an electricity, natural gas and clean energy delivery company serving New York, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

National Grid’s lucrative incentives and flexibility with custom programs helped EMC customers meet their return on investment (ROI) goals, delivering more than $400,000 in incentives. The National Grid team made the application process seamless with their responsiveness and support working through projects.

PSEG Long Island

PSEG Long Island, which operates the Long Island Power Authority’s transmission and distribution system, delivered more than $700,000 in customer savings in 2018. Extremely responsive, they make projects easy to accomplish.

Combining their collaborative spirit with the lucrative incentives they offer makes PSEG Long Island an attractive territory to recommend to our customers when helping them select lighting and controls project locations.

Xcel Energy Colorado and Minnesota

One of the top utilities we seek for projects in their territories, Xcel Energy’s Colorado and Minnesota regions both return to our list for a third consecutive year. Together, their great incentives and easy working relationship helped deliver more than $850,000 in rebate dollars to EMC customers in 2018.

The electric and gas company has operations in eight states and is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
