Plymouth, MN (March 19, 2013) – Turnkey lighting solutions provider Energy Management Collaborative (EMC) celebrates 10 years of serving major retail chains, multinational industrial and commercial corporations, healthcare providers and government entities. In this time the company has grown to 37 employees and revenues of nearly $30 million.
“While this has been a decade of struggle and decline for many organizations, the Green Movement and rising energy costs have presented us with significant opportunity,” said EMC President and CEO Jerry Johnson. “We acted on that opportunity, applying solid business practices and top-notch customer service to get us where we are today,” he said.
The company’s growth resulted in its moving to a new facility last September. Prior to moving in, EMC remodeled the 10,000 square foot building to include many of the energy-saving lighting technologies EMC offers its customers, making it a showcase as well as its company headquarters.
EMC’s success was also recognized earlier this year by Twin Cities Business Magazine, which named the company a 2012 Small Business Success Story Finalist.
In addition to celebrating its first decade, EMC will achieve another significant milestone in 2013. Since its inception, the company has tracked the number of kilowatt hours (kWh)—the most common billing unit utilities use to measure energy—all of its projects have saved. It will reach the one billion mark later this year.
“We are very proud to not just deliver substantial cost savings to our customers, but also help them significantly reduce their business’ impact on the environment,” said Johnson.
